Dimitrios Soukaras was born in Athens, Greece, in 1995. In 2017, he obtained a Bachelor of Music from the Ionian University in the city of Corfu. He continued his study at the Royal Academy of Music in London, earning a Master of Arts in Performance in 2018 and an Advanced Diploma in Performance in 2019 with M° Michael Lewin. He also obtained his classical guitar teaching license from the same conservatory in 2020.

He has received numerous awards, such as the David Russell Guitar Prize, UK (2019), the Ivor Mairants Guitar Award, UK (2019), the Academy of Athens Music Award, Greece (2018), and the Athena Scholarship Music Award UK (2017). Furthermore, he has won first prize at the Mottola International Guitar Competition, Italy (2018), at the Arion Guitar Competition, Greece (2015), and at the Anogia Crete Guitar Competition, Greece (2016), as well as second prize at the Patras Guitar Competition, Greece (2015) and the Thessaloniki Guitar Competition, Greece (2015, first prize not awarded).

Since 2019, Dimitrios is the artistic director of the MUΣΑ Concert Series, which promotes young artists, new projects, and innovative ideas from different genres of music, mainly focusing on communicating classical and contemporary music to a broader audience. As a 2018/2019 Eurostring artist, he has given masterclasses, lectures, and concerts at guitar festivals all over Europe and the UK. He is a visiting teacher at the Madrigal School of Music, Korinthos, and also teaches privately as a member of the Fireworks Music Survey in London.
