Born in Madeira, Portugal in 1995, Francisco Lopes began his love affair with the guitar at the age of 9, soon realizing that he wanted to pursue a career as a professional musician. After obtaining a diploma from the Conservatory of Madeira in 2014, he continued his study in Italy, at the G.B. Pergolesi Conservatory in Fermo, earning a Bachelor degree in 2017. In 2019, he completed his study with a Master degree from the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, Poland, with maestro Marcin Dylla. He also attended masterclasses with Luciano Lombardi, Claudio Marcotulli, Oscar Ghiglia, Marcin Dylla, Judicael Perroy, Margherita Escarpa, Massimo Stefanizzi, Alvaro Pierri, Maximo Diego Pujol, and Carlo Marchione

Francisco Lopes has won more than 10 prizes in well-known classical guitar competitions, such as first prize at the Festival Città di Voghera (2016), the Festival dell Adriatico Andres Segovia (2015) and the Festival Internazionale di Chitarra di Eboli (2014); and second prize at the International Festival and Competition Tczew (2018), the Festival and International Competition of Amarante (2016), and the 5th Acerra International Guitar Festival and Competition.

In 2014, he was one of the resident soloists of the Orquestra Academica da Madeira. He has also performed solo concerts with the Madeira Classical Orchestra (2016) and the Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana. He founded the New Classic Association in 2015 with the aim to organize concerts for young talented musicians and artists in Madeira. Since then his Association organized more than 50 events, counting the presence of more than 30 musicians and artists.
